The legislative decree 47 dated 1946 as amended by Law No.28 dated 1980, is the Syrian law that govern the intellectual property regulation in Syria, the second section is concerned with designs & industrial patterns.

Period of protection of Design in Syria is five years, and can be renewed for two similar periods.

After filing the application, a committee will be appointed for local market similarity search, and then a decision can be made accordingly.
